Mentorships and Affiliations

Part of being an author is staying connected with the writing community at large. In my career as an author, I've remained committed to supporting diverse voices and working with organizations that share this belief. Here are my current affiliations within the writing community that I highly recommend following and supporting as they have all been my core network of support as an aspiring writer and newly published author!

I am very excited to join the wonderful writing team of The Mixed-Up Files as a We Need Diverse Middle Grade Contributor! Stay tuned for updates on the wonderful MG authors I'll be sharing on this platform!

If you haven't heard of Lit Kids Magazine, then you are missing out on the next generation of creatives. Lit Kids Magazine features stories, poetry, essays, photography, and art by children age 5 to 13 years old. Publishing quarterly themed issues,  I am very delighted to be joining the team as a new mentor to these amazingly talented young creatives!

Every aspiring writer needs a supportive community on their journey toward publication. I've just joined this awesome group of KidLit creatives and look forward to growing my network of incredible kidlit writers and illustrators. Follow the invite button to join us!

I've also been a moderator for the Annual WriteHive Conference for the past three years and this organization is a must follow for all aspiring writers. "WriteHive seeks to foster a safe, diverse community and provide free, inclusive events and resources for all writers, especially those from marginalized communities" as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This NPO is "dedicated to helping writers achieve their goals." Not only are most of their events and programs FREE, WriteHive is entirely run by "dedicated volunteers passionate about providing opportunities to the writing community that are normally inhibited by financial means." Join the Discord server to stay in the loop.
